Emeritus College Spring, 2026 Classes
Emeritus College is a non-credit program of Santa Monica College
designed for older adults. Classes are free.
Students are encouraged to sign up before the first class.
However, Emeritus College offers continuous enrollment,
so you can also join the class anytime during the semester.

Class Title: Art E80, Jewelry Making, Section 9729
Dates: Every Thursday, 2/19/26 through 6/11/26.
Time: 11:30am - 1:45pmLocation: This class is now being held remotely on Zoom. A Zoom link will be sent once you register.
Class Description: New, advanced projects weekly, as well as basic skills will be taught. A wide range of jewelry-making techniques will be covered, including bead stringing, wirework, bead weaving, knotting, chain maille, macrame, metalwork, and more. Guidelines for tools and materials purchasing will be given during class.

Class Title: Hme Ec E71, Needlecraft II, Section 9794
Dates: Every Wednesday, 2/18/26 through 6/10/26.
Time: 1:30 - 4:20pmLocation: This class is now being held remotely on Zoom. A Zoom link will be sent once you register.
Class Description: In this casual, friendly class, you will have the opportunity to learn any fiber technique that interests you, including knitting, crochet, all types of weaving, needlework, basketry, macrame, etc. Bring your own project to class and Susan will help you complete it and solve any problems you may have. You can also learn from scratch any of the techniques listed above. Absolute beginners as well as advanced students are all welcome. Be prepared to make friends, share ideas and be inspired to try something totally new!
