Emeritus College Summer, 2020 Classes

Emeritus College Classes for SUMMER, 2020:

Emeritus College is a non-credit program of Santa Monica College designed for older adults. Classes are free. Students can purchase jewelry materials in class at discounted prices.
Students can join anytime throughout the semester.
ALL SUMMER, 2020 CLASSES WILL BE HELD REMOTELY ON ZOOM OR CANVAS.
CLASSES ARE NOW OPEN TO ANYONE RESIDING IN CALIFORNIA!

1) All Levels Jewelry-Making Class

Class Title: Art E80, Jewelry Making, Section 9516

Dates: Thursdays, June 25th through July 30th, 2020

Time: 11:30am - 1:45pm

Location: This class will be held remotely on Zoom or Canvas. All Emeritus classes are open for enrollment anytime, on a continuous enrollment basis.

Class Description: In this project-based class, we will do a different project every week. Examples of projects include wireworking, chain maille, macrame, bead stringing, bead weaving and more. Some jewelry-making experience is expected.

2) Fiber Arts Class: Knitting, Crochet, Weaving, etc.

Class Title: Hme Ec E71, Needlecraft II, Section 9553

Dates: Wednesdays, June 24th through July 29th, 2020

Time: 1:30 - 4:20pm

Location: This class will be held remotely on Zoom or Canvas. All Emeritus classes are open for enrollment anytime, on a continuous enrollment basis.

Class Description: In this casual, friendly class, you will have the opportunity to learn any fiber technique that interests you, including knitting, crochet, all types of weaving, needlework, basketry, macrame, etc. Bring your own project to class and Susan will help you complete it and solve any problems you may have. You can also learn from scratch any of the techniques listed above. Absolute beginners as well as advanced students are all welcome. Be prepared to make friends, share ideas and be inspired to try something totally new!
