Week 1, 9/3/25, Crochet
Beginner: Basic Crochet stitches: Slip knot, chain stitch, single crochet – Single Crochet Purse
Beginner Tools & Materials Needed: 1 skein Medium weight/worsted weight yarn, size G, H, or I crochet hook, or as called for on yarn package, & 1” button.
Advanced: Triple Crochet, plus Extended Double Crochet (p.36) and Crunch Stitch (p.38), from the book Mix & Match, Modern Crochet Blankets.
We will be doing various patterns from this book. I'll be scanning the pages to send the patterns, but you might want to buy the book.

Advanced Tools & Materials Needed:
Size H (5.0 mm) crochet hook or size you prefer for the yarn you’re using
1 skein Worsted Weight Yarn
Week 2, 9/10/25, Crochet
Beginner: More Basic Crochet stitches: half double, double & triple crochet - Multi-Stitch Scarf, Crochet pattern reading, Adding a new yarn.
Beginner Tools & Materials Needed: 2 skeins Medium weight/worsted weight yarn, size G, H, or I crochet hook, or as called for on yarn package.
Advanced: More patterns from Mix & Match: Catherine Wheel (p.40) and Sedge Stitch (p.41) if time permits.

Week 3, 9/17/25: Crochet
Beginner: Basic Granny Square
Tools & Materials Needed: Medium weight yarn in 3 colors
COLOR A: 2 skeins (approx. 115 g)
COLOR B: 1 skein (approx. 12 g)
COLOR C: 1 skein (approx. 16 g)
Size H or I crochet hook or size needed to obtain gauge
20 stitch markers

Tools & Materials Needed: Cotton or cotton blend, worsted weight yarn with size H crochet hook

Tools & Materials Needed: perfectly square paper, any kind, but pretty paper is even better
Week 8, 10/22/25, Denim/Sashiko patchwork
Tools & Materials Needed: Squares cut from denim or other fabric, embroidery floss (preferably white), embroidery needle, regular needle & thread.
Week 9, 10/29/25, Knitting
Beginner: Cast on, knit stitch, start basic scarf
Beginner Tools & Materials: Size 8 or 9 knitting needles, 2 skeins medium/worsted weight yarn
Advanced:
Advanced Tools & Materials: Medium weight cotton yarn, size 8 or 9 needles
Week 10, 11/5/25, Knitting
Beginner: Purl stitch, Pattern Sampler Scarf
Beginner Tools & Materials: Size 8, 9 or 10 knitting needles, 2 skeins worsted weight yarn
Advanced:
Advanced tools & materials: medium/worsted weight yarn, 3 size 6 knitting needles, size G crochet hook
Week 11, 11/12/25, Knitting
Everyone:
Tools & Materials Needed: 1 skein Medium/Worsted weight yarn, size 8 or 9 knitting needles
Week 12, 11/19/25, Knitting
Everyone: Basic Hat Made on Circular Needles, with or without Fair Isle Knit Pattern
Tools & Materials Needed: 2 colors of medium weight yarn, size 7 or 8 , 16” circular needle, size 7 or 8 double pointed needles.
Week 13, 11/26/25: Knitting
Everyone: Continue hat
Week 14, 12/3/25: Macrame Project
Week 15, 12/10/25, Button Necklace
Tools & Materials Needed: Lots of flat, 2 or 3-hole buttons, heavy thread, such as for sewing on buttons, or thin cord.
Week 16, 12/17/25, In-person outdoor class and holiday party (weather permitting), including potluck and White Elephant gift exchange. Address to be announced.
