Week 1, 9/3/26, NYLON-COVERED WIRE (aka Beading Wire) PROJECTS

Medium (a.k.a. Standard) Crimping pliers
Wire flush cutters
2 pairs Chain-nose pliers
Bead design board
Round-nose pliers
2 or more bead stopper clips

Materials Needed:
.018" Beadalon nylon-covered wire (length of necklace, plus 12 extra inches)
Asst. beads, including 8 small beads w/lg. holes, for the ends of the necklace
(2) 2mm.x2mm. crimp beads, Clasp set

About 100 Superduo beads (7 beads per inch)
About 225 Size 11 seed beads
44” of .014” or .015” Nylon-covered wire (aka Beading Wire) – flexible if possible
Note: the higher the strand count of the wire, the more flexible it will be. Also, “Satin” style 7-strand wire is more flexible than some other 7-strand wires
½” shank button
(1) 2mm.x 2mm. crimp bead (aka crimp tube)
(3 or 4) 4mm. round beads with holes large enough for 4 strands of wire.

Notes about beads: Don’t use long, tubular or oval beads because they won’t go around the curve of the wire. Also, avoid too many heavy beads.

OPTIONS 2 & 3: Size 11/0 end loops & Size 8/0 body – 20 size 11/0 color A (darker color), 80 size 8/0 Color A (darker color), 80 size 8/0 Color B (lighter color)
NOTE: I used Japanese seed beads in all these samples, but I think Czech seed beads might look more better because they’re rounder.
